Pemba Island General Overview:
Comprising the coasts of Kenya & Tanzania and the spice islands of the Zanzibar Archipelago, travel to East Africa is a truly exotic experience.
Fringing reefs and off-shore islands are swept by nutrient rich waters carried across the Indian Ocean by oceanic currents from Asia.
They flow through the 600m deep Pemba Channel, which separates the Kenyan mainland, at Shimoni, from the walls of Pemba Island, and its in these waters that the regions best diving can be found. Conditions here are ideal all year round, with the exception of May and June, which seasonally subjects to the long rains.
